From our office, we would like to take a minute to give our best holiday wishes to you and your family. We hope that everyone is doing well and remembering what to do to make this holiday season a safe and pleasant one. We want everyone to look forward to New Year, so we hope this little bit of advice will help.
It is especially important to not drink and drive this year. Field sobriety checkpoints in Fresno have increased considerably and they are on the
lookout for anyone driving during the next couple of weeks. Having to deal with a DUI case next year is likely not on the list of fun things to do. Before you drink, make sure you have a ride. If things do not work out as you plan, call a
cab, Uber, tow truck, or other person to pick you up. There is no excuse that will get you out of a DUI if you are behind the wheel, so do yourself a favor and stay clear of any vehicles if you are drinking. Remember – one drink, do not drive. This is the only sure fire way to not be accused of a DUI.
We know this is not always the easiest time of the year, so we want to remind you that the stress of the holidays can lead to behavior that can get you in trouble with the law. It is important to attend AA/NA meetings if you
are having any difficulty. Remember, you are not alone and there are many good people that attend AA/NA meetings that can help you get through this time. Call your sponsor if you feel like drinking, and if you don’t have one – get one now so you have someone to lean on for support. We all need help sometimes, so if it means reaching out to someone – then do so.
If you are arrested and charged with a DUI, you have rights. You have the right to remain silent. You are not required to tell the officer what you drank or any other question that involves the DUI investigation! You are not required to perform field sobriety tests! So please, let them do their investigation, submit to a chemical test, and then come see us after the holiday.
This is also a reminder to our future and current clients that we will be closed starting December 23, 2016 and will re-open on Tuesday, January 3, 2017. If you wish to make an appointment, please feel free to do so. May the New Year fill your home with joy in your heart with love and your life with laughter. We would love to hear from you! Check us out on or our other social media at any of the networks.
