At the Law Offices of Tina M. Barberi, P.C., we want to wish you a Happy Veterans Day and thank you for all of your service.
As we all know, Veterans Day is about paying respect and honoring our Veterans, but many people like to celebrate this holiday with alcohol.
We want to make sure that everyone is enjoying this respectful holiday, but most importantly, we hope you will stay safe and not give any reason for an officer to arrest you.
DUIs are common on Veterans Day. Like any holiday, Fresno police and other law enforcement will be set up all around Fresno County in full force to arrest drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
If you decide to drink alcohol, please make sure you have a designated driver. Be aware, you do not need to have a BAC over .08 while driving to be arrested for a DUI.
Do not be fool by the misconception that drinking now and waiting a couple hours will make you fine to drive later. The BAC does not decrease with the passage of time. It is the opposite, BAC level actually increases over an hour after someone has stopped drinking.
Alcohol does not evaporate from the body with the passage of time. The buzz might be gone but the BAC is still increasing (or slowly decreasing) even though you feel fine.
Although we hope it doesn’t happen to you, we are here if you need us! If you need help fighting a DUI or in need of an aggressive and determined criminal defense attorney, contact our office immediately. We offer affordable, flat rate fees and consultations are always free.
If you just received a DUI, remember you only have 10 days to request a DMV hearing or you will lose your license. By contacting the Law Offices of Tina M. Barberi, P.C., we will request a DMV hearing for you for free. Call us right away for your free consultation.
So let’s celebrate today and honor our Vets but let’s be careful and safe. This a special day for our service personnel and we do not want anything to ruin our celebration.
