Drunk driving is a serious problem and holidays like the Fourth of July are big holiday weekends for drunk driving arrests. Anyone pulled over and is over the limit will be arrested.
Many people lose their lives because of drinking and driving on the 4th of July. As a result the Fresno police will be out in full force to arrest anyone suspected of driving under the influence.
Sobriety checkpoints will definitely be placed around Fresno and Clovis in order to catch drunk drivers. Because of the three day weekend, checkpoints will likely be held on July 3 and July 4 this year, but it is possible Fresno police may set up a checkpoint tonight.
Additionally, Fresno and Madera County law enforcement agencies will be out at the lakes and rivers during this 4th of July. They will likely be checking boats for anyone operating a water vessel under the influence of alcohol and drugs this weekend.
If you are drinking during the three day weekend, please do not drive unless you prefer to spend your money on DUI lawyers, like myself. Although we are here to help if you are arrested and charged with a DUI, it is much easier (and cheaper) to avoid the DUI arrest by not driving a motor vehicle after consuming any alcohol.
Don’t let this Fourth of July blow up in your face. Instead of spending your night in jail, be safe and sane by not drinking and driving!
